Default SUGGESTION: Publish AB map change system

So we can tell you how to improve it. If the system has already been published, please post a link , then I'll change this into a "suggest improvements for the system" thread.

Wiki is your friend.

Also, if you read the other AB posts you''ll find peoples suggestions on how to improve the current system.

While I do think something needs to change, I know theres not a chance it will.

I checked the wiki, but "based on the outcome of the last 3 hours of alliance battles, as well as momentum from previous rounds of alliance battles" is not a description of the system. If your contract said that you would be paid "based on the hours you worked, as well as the amount of work you did", would you sign, or would you want to know what your actual wages would be and how the bonus would work?

If say 5 matches are played and the Kurzicks win 3/5 this will cause the border to be pushed into Luxon territory and vice versa. Basically it's based on who wins the majority of matches over the 3 hour period. If however it was a draw (eg: Kurzicks 3, Luxon 3) then I would assume it would be based upon, as wiki said, the outcome of the previous rounds. When the border gets to far into one territory it simply resets to the middle unless the defending team can push it back out eg: if the border is as far into Luxon territory as is allowed but they loose the next round then the border resets back to the middle, as it cannot go any further into their territory. if however they win the next round it will advance it a little bit back towards the 'neutral' point.

What more can Anet publish about it other than that?

I did not see that published anywhere and I'm also 100% sure that it is incorrect.

Surely you mean in the direction of, rather than into, Luxon territory? Otherwise if Kurzicks win on Ancestral Lands, the map would change 3 steps to the east.

I don't believe this. We'd be seeing the beach far more often if this were true, because Luxons keep winning more matches than Kurzicks even on the Ancestral Lands.

I'm still looking for the real system.

if the map was ancestral lands though, pushing the border to the east would be into luxon territory, since they would control that land.

What I posted was the real system and is based off of my experience of playing AB for over 2 years, opinions of others and what I've read on wiki and guru:

It's based off of who won the most matches over the last 3 hours, what's so hard to understand about that?

This could just be your experience; remember there are hundreds of matches being played over that 3 hour period, just because you may have lost/won the majority doesn't mean every other match went the same way. The maps are also designed to give the defending team an advantage, my experience of loosing on maps like "Ancestral Lands" is because the Kurzicks aren't capping/playing the map properly.

Ancestral is the third kurz map (played when the border is at around 50% into their territory and cannot advance any further), if the kurizcks won that map more than the Luxons over the 3 hours then it would push the border back to around 25% into Kurzick territory. You would then be playing Grenz, if Kurzicks loose Grenz over 3 hours the map goes back to Ancestral, if they win it goes to Saltspray Beach. If the Luxons win at Saltspray the map goes to Grenz, if they loose it goes to Etnaran. If the Luxons loose at Etnaran the map moves to Kaanai and if they win it goes back to Saltspray. If the Luxons loose at Kaanai or the Kurzicks lost at Ancestral the border would either rest to neutral or remain where it was (as I said, the resetting thing was an assumption).

OVER 9000!!!11!

...Sorry. I'd just say 'hundreds' is a bit of an overstatement.

Agleed. Queue time is about 2 minutes, so there's about 30 matches an hour. Anyway, you could just give each map points based upon the amount of wins, then add points for how long they haven't been played. Then each map would eventually get its turn, regardless of what was going on in AB.
